There are situations where the use of satellite broadcast technology is not possible – whether for reasons of space, for reasons of mobility on travel or because of tariff resp. transmission restrictions. In order to nevertheless be able to transmit data such as videos in broadcast quality from A to B on a quick and flexible basis, we make use of a special satellite streaming technology. This technology gives us the possibility to transfer data to a server with only little effort on site.

The performance ratio is 1:2, that means 1 minute of video material will be on the server after 2 minutes.

Already since 2008, SATCOM satellite communication produces the daily broadcast „Südwild“ in the Bayerisches Fernsehen (Bavarian Television). The special thing about the broadcast is not only that technology, office and an Internet-Café are integrated in a double-decker bus, but also that instead of a normal satellite transmission a bilateral MPEG 4 satellite link is established.

Besides the data traffic between “home server” and production site, the outgoing picture, too, is lead over the transmission link – up to now unparalleled in the daily TV business.
